ShockTillYouDrop has reported – and confirmed – that when the seventh installment of the Saw franchise hits theaters on October 22nd, it won’t be followed by a roman numeral. LionsGate has instead opted for the film to be called  Saw 3D with the tagline of The Traps Come Alive.

Lionsgate’s The Last Exorcism has landed the more commercially viable PG-13 rating from the Motion Picture Association of America. The reasons given is “for disturbing violent content and terror, some sexual references and thematic material.Read the rest of this entry »

LionsGate – in association with Eli Roth and Strike Entertainment – has released new artwork for their latest horror pic, The Last Exorcism,  via the film’s Facebook page. The poster can be viewed by clicking here.

The film chronicles a troubled evangelical minister who agrees to let his last exorcism be filmed by a documentary crew. The film stars Patrick Fabian, Iris Bahr, Louis Herthum, Ashley Bell, Tony Bentley, Caleb Jones, Shanna Forrestall, Allen Boudreaux, Denise Lee, Becky Fly, Logan Craig Reid, and Jamie Alyson Caudle.

The Last Exorcism is written by Huck Botko and Andrew Gurland, and it is directed by Daniel Stamm (A Necessary Death).

According to ComingSoon.net, via LionsGate, it has been confirmed that Cary Elwes will return to the franchise, reprising his role of Dr. Lawrence Gordon from the original Saw movie in Saw VII 3D, which hits theaters on October 22nd.

The latest installment, which is directed by Kevin Greutert (Saw VI) from a script by Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan, will mark the first theatrical feature to be shot on the SI-3D digital camera system.
